In Finnish Lapland, summer transforms the rhythm of life. Light stretches into the night and the usual rhythm of urgency begins to dissolve. This new, unique 5-day course invites to explore stress regulation, recovery and embodied mindfulness under the extraordinary light of the Midnight Sun.

Set in Rovaniemi on the Arctic Circle, surrounded by rivers, forests and northern landscapes, participants will learn how light, movement, water and nature influence recovery, focus and emotional balance.

The course is designed and delivered by experienced educators and certified mindfulness and movement professionals, with extensive background in teacher training and adult education across Europe. Lumia Wellness Oy is an accredited Erasmus+ Adult Education provider.

Open to individuals seeking a deeper understanding of stress regulation and sustainable wellbeing – whether for personal growth or professional application.
The programme is eligible for Erasmus+ mobility funding.

  • Understanding Stress & Nervous System
    Learn how the autonomic nervous system works and how chronic stress impacts focus, decision-making and emotional balance.
  • Regulating the Nervous System & Restoring Balance
    Learn how the nervous system can be consciously regulated, and understand the mechanisms that support emotional balance and long-term resilience.
  • Applied Mindfulness, Breathwork & Somatic Movement
    Train simple, evidence-based practices to regulate stress and restore clarity – tools you can immediately use in your personal and professional setting.
  • Guided Arctic Nature Hikes
    Experience structured outdoor sessions designed to activate recovery through movement, fresh air and sensory awareness.
    Use the forest environment to deepen attention, presence and nervous system reset.
  • Canoeing Experience in Ounasjoki -river
    See Rovaniemi from a different perspective and enjoy the calming effects of water.
  • Finnish Wellbeing Traditions: Sauna & Cold River Immersion
    Understand heat and cold exposure through the lens of recovery science and nervous system adaptation. 
  • Collaborative Reflection & Cultural exchange
    Engage in interactive exchange sessions where participants co-create ideas related to stress-management, compare professional practices and explore new approaches across different cultural contexts.
  • Translating Recovery into Practice
    Obtain practical strategies to integrate stress regulation tools into organisations and leadership contexts.

Who we are

We are sisters, educators and founders of Lumia Wellness Academy, based on the Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi, Finland. Our work is dedicated to helping people slow down, reconnect with themselves and cultivate sustainable wellbeing in both personal and professional life.
With backgrounds as secondary school teachers and certified instructors in yoga, mindfulness, meditation and movement practices, we bring together educational expertise and embodied wellbeing methods.
Through Lumia Wellness Studio and our international training programmes, we offer courses that combine evidence-informed wellbeing practices, professional development and the powerful restorative environment of Arctic nature.

Piia Mustikkamaa-Jokelainen

Piia is a Physical Education and Health Sciences teacher with 25 years of experience in teaching in secondary education. She specialises in mindfulness, stress regulation and embodied wellbeing, Her particular strength is translating wellbeing practices into practical pedagogy and helping educators integrate stress regulation, movement and mindfulness into everyday school environments. Piia holds a Master’s degree in Sport and Health Sciences and is a certified Mindfulness Teacher, Brain Relief® therapist and trainer, Sleep Coach, Yoga Teacher (RYT® 200) and Mat Pilates instructor.

Sini Mustikkamaa-Kelly

Sini is Psychology and Religion Sciences teacher, yoga and mindfulness teacher, and wellness educator with over a decade of experience in the wellbeing field. She specialises in yoga, nervous system regulation and holistic wellbeing.
Sini has taught yoga and mindfulness internationally and has extensive experience working in multicultural environments in Finland, Australia and Spain. She holds a Master’s degree in Religion Sciences and is a certified Yoga Teacher (RYT® 500), Meditation and Mindfulness Teacher, Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach.
